Not on the list? We still work with you. Local Heights looks after Google profiles for businesses in towns and cities all over the country, and the work is the same wherever you are. Send us your listing link on WhatsApp and tell us what is bothering you about it, whether that is unanswered reviews, wrong hours or a pin in the wrong place.

Why each city gets its own page

Local search works street by street, but the job of a good Google profile is the same everywhere: correct hours, real photos, the right categories and thoughtful replies to your reviews. What changes from city to city is who is searching, what they type and when trade peaks. Each city page below covers those local differences, with sources for the facts we use.

Gauteng's three metros alone are home to millions of people. At Census 2022, Stats SA counted 4,803,262 people (Stats SA) in the City of Johannesburg, 4,066,691 people (Stats SA) in Ekurhuleni and 4,040,315 people (Stats SA) in the City of Tshwane. Each of those metros is really a cluster of towns and suburbs with their own centres, and customers search for the suburb, not the metro.

On the coasts, trade follows the seasons. Beachfront businesses in Durban, Cape Town and Gqeberha see visitors arrive for the December holidays and need their hours and posts ready before the rush. University towns follow the academic year. Public holidays fall on the same dates nationwide, and they are the days when a wrong opening time costs the most.
