Ekurhuleni counted 4,066,691 people (Stats SA, Census 2022) at Census 2022, a little more than Tshwane. It is a metro made of towns. The seat is Germiston, but customers think in terms of Boksburg, Benoni, Kempton Park, Edenvale, Alberton, Springs or Brakpan, each with its own town centre and shopping streets.
Kempton Park is home to O. R. Tambo International Airport, the main airport for Johannesburg and Pretoria. Guest houses, shuttle firms, car hire desks and restaurants close to the airport depend on travellers who have never been to the area and who decide entirely from the map and from reviews.
If you run a trade or a workshop, your profile works differently from a shop with a door. Customers who never visit you need a service area that names the towns you really cover, a hidden address if you work from home, and reviews that describe the work. Customers who do drive in need a pin on the right gate and a photo of it.
Because Ekurhuleni is a string of towns rather than one centre, many owners serve customers from Benoni to Alberton. Listing those towns as service areas, and naming them naturally in replies, helps the right people find you.
Examples of real kinds of searches, and what a strong profile shows for them. These are examples, not ranking claims.
“guest house near OR Tambo”
Travellers book late and from a phone. Clear photos of the rooms, the distance to the terminal in your description and quick replies to reviews about pickups carry the decision.
“panel beater Boksburg”
Trust is everything. Reviews that mention the car, the insurer and the turnaround, with a reply that thanks people for the specific job, read as real.
“electrician Benoni”
A service area business shows a shaded area instead of a pin. Set it to the towns you will actually drive to, so the call comes from the right side of the metro.
“pharmacy Germiston open Sunday”
This search is decided by hours. Sunday and public holiday hours need to be set on the profile itself, not only on a sign in the window.
Airport trade runs on flight times, not office hours, so a business near O. R. Tambo that opens early or closes late should say so on the profile. If you close for a December shutdown, add it as special hours, so Google doesn't send people to a locked gate. Public holidays such as Freedom Day on 27 April and Workers' Day on 1 May fall close together, and we set both ahead of time.
Check the dates with our holiday hours tool.
Use the town your customers know you by. Your address shows the town, and your description can name the nearby towns you serve. We never stuff place names into the business name, because that breaks Google's rules.
If customers don't come to you, set the profile as a service area business and list the towns you cover. If they do come to you, keep the address visible and add the service area as well.
Yes. Airport businesses often get reviews from people passing through once, so replying to each one, and fixing hours for early and late flights, makes a visible difference to how the profile reads.

No one can honestly guarantee a Google ranking. Google says local results mainly depend on relevance, distance and prominence. We work on the parts you control: an accurate, active profile and steady, specific replies to your reviews.
WhatsApp us your listing link and tell us what is wrong. We look at the profile as it stands and tell you what we would fix first.
