The City of Johannesburg counted 4,803,262 people (Stats SA, Census 2022) at Census 2022, the most of any municipality in Gauteng. The city grew out of the gold fields of the Witwatersrand, and many of its suburb names still end in fontein, the Afrikaans word for spring, after the farms they were laid out on. Braamfontein is one of them.
Customers here rarely search for Johannesburg as a whole. They search for the suburb they are in, or the one they are driving to. Braamfontein is home to the University of the Witwatersrand and the city council offices, so lunchtime trade there is students, staff and officials. Melville has its run of restaurants, bars and small shops along 7th Street. Rosebank has had a mall since 1976 and is now a busy mix of offices, galleries and places to eat.
That spread changes what a good profile looks like. A café in Melville lives on evening and weekend searches. A copy shop near Wits gets its rush around exams. A practice in Rosebank is chosen by someone comparing three pins on a map. We set your categories, services, photos and posts for the street your customers really come from, not for the city in general.
A Johannesburg profile has to be precise about the suburb on the label. Someone in Fourways will not drive to Rosebank for a haircut, so the pin, the service area and the replies should all say clearly where you trade and how to find parking.
Examples of real kinds of searches, and what a strong profile shows for them. These are examples, not ranking claims.
“dentist Rosebank”
People compare the three practices Google shows on the map. Recent photos of the rooms, a clear list of treatments and steady, specific replies to reviews make the choice easy.
“coffee Melville open now”
This one lives or dies on correct hours. If your Sunday or public holiday hours are wrong, Google may show you as closed, or send people to a locked door.
“printing Braamfontein”
Students search in a hurry. A short product list, prices where you are happy to share them and a photo of the counter do most of the selling.
“plumber Johannesburg north”
Trades without a shopfront need a proper service area and reviews that describe the job. We help you ask customers for honest reviews, the way Google allows.
Johannesburg trade follows the people around you. Student areas go quiet in the university holidays and fill up again when lectures start. Offices in Rosebank and further north thin out over the December break while the malls get busier. Public holidays, from Human Rights Day on 21 March to Heritage Day on 24 September, are the days a customer is most likely to find you shut, so we put special hours on your profile a week ahead.

All of it, from Soweto and the south to Braamfontein, Melville, Rosebank, Randburg and the northern suburbs. If you have more than one branch in Gauteng, we can look after them together.
Usually, yes. We check the pin, the address and the service area, and walk you through any proof Google asks for. Some changes need Google to review them, and we tell you plainly which part is ours and which part is Google's.
Yes. In the inner city, a pin that sits on the right entrance and a photo of the shopfront from the street help people find you on foot. Getting those two right is often the first job we do.
Most of the work happens over WhatsApp, email and calls. If you'd rather meet, Shaun comes to you, anywhere in South Africa. We don't have an office in your city.
No one can honestly guarantee a Google ranking. Google says local results mainly depend on relevance, distance and prominence. We work on the parts you control: an accurate, active profile and steady, specific replies to your reviews.
WhatsApp us your listing link and tell us what is wrong. We look at the profile as it stands and tell you what we would fix first.
Send us your Google listing and we'll take a look.
