Google review stands, cards and NFC stickers in South Africa

Each stand, card and plate holds an NFC chip, and stands, plates and the Facebook and Instagram cards also carry a printed QR code. A customer taps their phone on it, or scans the code with their camera, and your Google review page (or your Instagram or Facebook page) opens straight away. It makes leaving a review quick, so you can ask every customer the same way.

We confirm the link with you in writing. Then we write it to the chip, print a QR code of the same link on stands, plates and the Facebook and Instagram cards, and test every item on an iPhone and an Android phone before it leaves us. It arrives ready to use. There is nothing to install.

Dropped at The Courier Guy within 1 working day of payment and your confirmed link. From there it takes 2 to 3 working days to main centres, up to 5 working days regionally, to the Courier Guy locker you chose or to your door, anywhere in South Africa. Delivery is included on orders from R499. Under R499: R65 to a Courier Guy locker or R95 to your door. We email your tracking link as soon as your parcel is booked.

We only program a Google item once your review link opens a working review page. If your profile isn't set up or verified yet, tell us when you order: we hold the Google items until it's live, or refund you in full if you'd rather not wait. Yes. iPhone XS and newer read the chip with a tap while the screen is on. Older iPhones (7 to X) need the NFC reader from Control Centre. On Android, NFC needs to be switched on, usually from quick settings. Stands, plates and the Facebook and Instagram cards also carry a printed QR code that any phone camera can scan, so every customer has a way in. The Google cards and Tap Spots are tap only.

No. You pay once and it's yours to keep. There's no app, account or subscription. The chip holds your own link, not a link through our servers, so it keeps working whether or not you use any other Local Heights service.

Yes. Every chip is rewritable and protected with a password, so a stranger can't overwrite it but we can update it for you. If your link changes, WhatsApp us and we'll arrange it.

No. The stand makes leaving a review quicker; it doesn't promise a number of reviews or a rating. Ask every customer the same way, offer no rewards for reviews, and let customers use their own phone. Those are Google's rules, and our use card spells them out.

Stands, plates and the Facebook and Instagram cards, yes: each has an NFC chip for a tap and a printed QR code for a scan (on the back of the Facebook and Instagram cards), so it works on any phone with a camera. The Google cards and the Tap Spot sticker are tap only, with no QR code, so the customer's phone needs NFC switched on.
